There has been an increasing shortage of baby formula across the United States since early May.

A record of 21% of powdered baby formula has been out of stock and has led to rising product restrictions and huge panic amongst parents.

The shortage is allegedly caused by a mix of supply-chain issues, a recent product recall, and the closure of a major production plant in February.

The crisis has heightened and parents are thinking of how to navigate the situation, and how they can get help.

President Biden has assured all households of the government’s effort to ensure that manufacturers increase the production of formula.

“Realistically, I think we’re looking at several more months,” said Dr. Steven Abrams, a spokesperson for the American Academy of Pediatrics.

“Even once that factory restarts, I don’t think the situation will get better super rapidly because the shortages have been developing for so long”, he said.

Experts hay advised that parents who can’t find their baby formula brand should switch to any F.D.A.-approved baby formula available at any reputable pharmacy.
