Ghanaian Hiplife musician Ayisi, formerly known as A.I., has revealed the reason behind his decision to change his stage name. Initially recognized as A.I. after being featured in Vision DJ’s hit track ‘Grind’ in 2016, Ayisi felt the need to switch to Ayisi to avoid confusion with the common interpretation of A.I. as Artificial Intelligence.

He expressed that during his time as A.I., people associated various meanings with his stage name, leading him to clarify any misconceptions.

He highlighted the saturation of the term A.I. in today’s context, with references like Adenta Intelligence and Artificial Intelligence, which could overshadow his identity as an artist.

This prompted his shift to Ayisi to maintain distinction and clarity in the music industry.

Ayisi explained that his former stage name, A.I., was simply derived from his full name, Ayisi, using the first and last letters. Recently, he released a new single titled ‘Blessing,’ produced by Groovy.

Regarding nominations for the Telecel Ghana Music Awards, Ayisi mentioned that he typically does not actively seek nominations for himself. He emphasized his focus on his artistic work and delivering his best performances.

Ayisi shared that nominations are usually submitted on his behalf, even citing an instance where ‘Anger Management’ was submitted by someone else.

His approach revolves around concentrating on his craft and letting others handle the nomination process, allowing him to focus on creating music and delivering his best work.
