About The Australian Open
The Australian Open is a two-weeks tennis tournament organized every year in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia.
It is usually the first of the four Grand Slam tennis events to kick off every year, before the French Open, Wimbledon, and the US Open.

The maiden edition took place in 1905, and was then known as the Australasian championships. Today, the Australian Open is regarded as one of the biggest sporting events in the Southern Hemisphere, and a major contributor to the Victorian economy.

The happy grand slam event which begins in the middle of January, comprises of various categories such as men’s and women’s singles; men’s, women’s, and mixed doubles; junior’s championships; wheelchair, legends, and exhibition.
The tournament is usually played on hardcourt surfaces, which could be green-coloured Rebound Ace, blue Plexicushion, or blue GreenSet.
The tournament prize money awarded in the men’s and women’s singles is equally shared, with the total prize money for this year’s tournament amounting to AUD $76,500,000.
The Australian Open remains the highest attended event, with the previous in 2022 recording a total of 346,468 attendees.
