Austin Louis Cindric is an American professional auto racing driver. He competes full-time in the NASCAR Cup Series, driving the No. 2 Ford Mustang for Team Penske.

Cindric began the 2021 NXS season right where he left off in 2020 in Victory Lane. Cindric won the season-opening race at Daytona International Speedway, marking Team Penske’s first Xfinity Series win at the 2.5-mile speedway and the first for Cindric in seven starts at Daytona.

He is the son of Team Penske president Tim Cindric and the grandson of former IndyCar team owner and Red Roof Inn founder Jim Trueman.

Cindric graduated from Cannon School on May 18, 2017, hours before he competed in the Truck Series race at the nearby Charlotte Motor Speedway.

Born in September 1998 in Ohio, Austin Cindric’s parents are father Tim, and mother, Megan. He is also the grandson of former IndyCar owner Jim Trueman whose team won the 1986 Indy 500.

Tim Cindric is the President of Team Penske basically Roger Penske’s second-in-command. Cindric has also called strategy in IndyCar races for Will Power and Josef Newgarden.
