There has been a shooting at a Nashville elementary school named Christian Elementary School. The shooter has been identified as a female local resident who was a former student called Audrey Hale. She was 28 years old.

So far, six people have been confirmed dead, three 9-year-old children and three adults. According to the Police Hale entered the building through a side door, armed with at least two assault-style rifles and a handgun. She was gunned down by the Police during the gunfire.

Data from the Gun Violence Archive shows that this makes up 129 mass shootings in the United States so far in 2023 alone.
The three 9-year-olds who were murdered by Hale were identified as Evelyn Dieckhaus, Hallie Scruggs, and William Kinney. The adults were also identified as Cynthai Peak (61), Katherine Koonce (60), and Mike Hill (61).
“We’re holding in our hearts those affected by this horrible tragedy, and thank the first responders who were on the scene,” Senate Majority Leader, Chuck Schumer shared after the news broke out.
