The affidavit includes a trending recording of a phone conversation between Richard Jakpa, the third accused, and Attorney General Godfred Dame, which purportedly contains evidence of criminal and prosecutorial misconduct by the Attorney General.

Additionally, the affidavit cites media reports, notably from Asaase Radio, which highlight professional misconduct by the Attorney General. These quotes have been attached to bolster the claims of misconduct.

Dr. Forson is requesting the court to declare a mistrial in the interest of justice, stressing that justice must not only be done but also be seen to be done. He asserts that the Attorney General has engaged in reprehensible and unlawful behavior solely to secure his conviction.

Dr. Forson argues that proceeding with the trial despite these serious allegations of misconduct would constitute a travesty of justice and undermine public confidence in the legal system.

The application is scheduled to be moved on Tuesday, June 4, 2024.
