Ashutosh Tandon, a prominent figure in Indian politics, passed away on 9 November 2023, leaving behind a legacy of dedicated service.

At the age of 63, Tandon succumbed to heart failure at a private hospital in Lucknow, marking the end of a remarkable journey in politics and public service.
Hailing from the Lucknow East constituency in the Lucknow district, Tandon served as the Minister of Urban Development, Overall Urban Development, Urban Employment, and Poverty Alleviation in the Uttar Pradesh government.
His contributions to the state’s development were substantial, reflecting in his various ministerial roles.

Tandon’s political career spanned several decades, and he was a three-time winner of the Lucknow East constituency seat in the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly.

His victories in the 2014, 2017, and 2022 elections showcased the trust and confidence the people of Lucknow placed in him.
Before entering politics, Tandon held the position of Director at Union Bank of India from 2001 to 2006, demonstrating his expertise beyond the political arena.
His multifaceted contributions made him a respected figure not only in politics but also in the banking sector.
In the 2014 assembly elections, Tandon defeated Juhie Singh by a significant margin of 26,459 votes, solidifying his position as a prominent political figure in the region.
His subsequent appointments to the ministries of Technical and Medical Education in 2017 showcased his versatility and commitment to addressing diverse aspects of societal development.
The 2022 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly election witnessed Tandon’s third consecutive victory from the Lucknow East constituency.
Defeating Samajwadi Party’s Anurag Bhadouria by an impressive 49,017 votes, Tandon continued to garner support and trust from the electorate.
