Ash Carter Cause of Death

Ashton Carter, President Barack Obama’s final defence secretary, passed away on October 24, 2022, at the age of 68 according to his family.

Carter died on Monday night in Boston of a “sudden cardiac event,” according to his family. He is survived by his wife, Stephanie, and his children, Ava and Will.

Ashton Carter led the Defense Department from February 2015 to January 2017. Carter made all military occupations and positions available to women without exception in 2016.

This would be the first time in US history that women with the necessary qualifications would be allowed to serve in areas of the military previously reserved for men, such as infantry, armour, reconnaissance, and some special operations units.

Carter received the DOD Distinguished Public Service Medal five times for his contributions to national security.

For his contributions to intelligence, he has also received the CJCS Joint Distinguished Civilian Service Award and the Defense Intelligence Medal. Carter has written or co-written 11 books and over 100 articles on physics, technology, national security, and management.
