News anchor Arshad Sharif’s father, Muhammad Sharif was a high ranking Army offical, who rose to become a commander.

Commander Muhammad Sharif died of a heart attack in 2011, at the Armed Forces Institute of Cardiology.
Commander Sharif also had a son in the Army, named Major Ashraf Sharif, who died on his way to his funeral.
Commander Sharif was buried alongside his son, with full military honours at the H-11 Graveyard.
Who Was Arshad Sharif?
Ashad Sharif was a TV host who specialized as an investigative journalist, was known to have covered many political events and conflicts across different countries.
Born on February 22, 1973, Karachi, Pakistan, Sharif hosted the programme Power Play on ARY News, and served as News Director on AAJ News.

Sharif won several awards while he was alive. Some of them include the 2012 Agahi Award, the 2016 Investigative Journalist of the Year Award, the 2018 Current Affairs Anchor of the Year Award.
Sharif died on October 23, 2022, Nairobi, Kenya, after multiple gunshots were fired at him in Nairobi, Kenya, by the local police.
Although, the police had said his killing was a case of mistaken identity, but the Pakistani community has termed it an assassination.
For the President of Pakistan Arif Alvi, Sharif’s death was “a great loss to journalism and Pakistan”.
The Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (PFUJ), have called for investigations into the killing of Sharif.
