She is well-known for playing Calliope Jones in the NBC daytime drama Days of Our Lives, but she is also notable for providing the voice of Harley Quinn in Batman: The Animated Series, which was based on a character created by her college friend Paul Dini.

As a member of the prestigious comedy group The High-Heeled Women in the late 1970s and early 1980s, Sorkin launched her career and delighted audiences with her humorous abilities.
