She is well-known for playing Calliope Jones in the NBC daytime drama Days of Our Lives, but she is also notable for providing the voice of Harley Quinn in Batman: The Animated Series, which was based on a character created by her college friend Paul Dini.

As a member of the prestigious comedy group The High-Heeled Women in the late 1970s and early 1980s, Sorkin launched her career and delighted audiences with her humorous abilities. The cabaret entertainment provided by this group—which also included Mary Fulham, Tracey Berg, and Cassandra Danz—was outstanding.

In addition, Sorkin co-wrote the idea and script for the Jennifer Aniston-starring 1997 movie Picture Perfect. She also provided her writing skills to the 1990–1992 television series Tiny Toon Adventures.
