Derrick’s wife of over three years, Da’Naia Jackson, filed for divorce from the relationship expert on August 28, 2020. However, Da’Naia has reconciled with her husband and claims that she has forgiven him.

Da’Naia stated when she filed for a divorce that the couple had been separated for at least six months and she is entitled to a divorce because the marriage is “irretrievably broken” and there are “no prospects for reconciliation.”
However, her husband Derrick never responded to the petition and Da’Naia dismissed the divorce on October 2, 2020.

Derrick admitted to cheating on his wife in a Youtube video after a couple of women shared their experience with the married man.
Da’Naia explained her reasons for taking him back in the video. “I didn’t hesitate or waste time to leave when I found out. And I stayed gone, no matter how many times he came, I stayed gone and stayed firm in my decision and I did not come back until I saw a shift and change in his mentality and how he carried himself and how he presented himself in conversations that we were able to have that we were never able to have in 12 years of knowing each other.”
