The Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA) forward Alyssa Thomas was born in the United States on April 12, 1992. She plays for the Connecticut Sun. For the Terrapins of Maryland, she participated in college basketball.

Thomas was selected by the New York Liberty as the fourth-overall pick in the 2014 WNBA draft. The Liberty then traded Tina Charles, Kelsey Bone, and a first-round draft pick to the Phoenix Sun.

Thomas is one of only three athletes in NCAAW history to have six career triple-doubles, and she leads the University of Maryland’s men’s and women’s basketball programs in scoring, rebounding, and double-doubles all-time. With nine triple-doubles, Thomas is the only WNBA player. Thomas won the ACC Rookie of the Year award in 2011 and was chosen for the All-ACC Second Team during her first year.
