Ugandan human rights activist Esther Nakajjigo had died, following accident at Arches National Park, on June 13, 2020.

The U.S. government have since been urged to compensate the family with $10.5 million for damages.
Who Was the Woman Found in Arches National Park?
Esther Nakajjigo, 25, had lost her life at the Arches National Park as a result of negligence on the part of the Park officials who could not secure the metal gate that killed her.
Nakajjigo had just been married for three months to her husband, Ludovic Michaud, who hails from Denver.

The couple drove to the park to enjoy themselves, and later left the parking lot to get ice cream when a metal traffic control gate swung into the road, and rammed into the passenger side of the rental car.
Nakajjigo’s had suffered a head injury before she died.
The National Park Service has been blamed for negligence for not maintaining the gate.
The U.S government had apologized for Nakajjigo’s death and urged national parks to adhere maintenance and safety rules.
Late Nakajjigo was involved in community projects before she died. She sponsored free reproductive health services to young women and girls, and her efforts won her the Woman Achiever Award by the United Nations Population Fund.
