Anshu Jain, a top finance executive best known for assisting German lender Deutsche Bank AG (DBKGn.DE) in taking on Wall Street’s biggest names, passed away overnight on Saturday, August 13 2022.

Anshu Jain passed away after a five-year battle with cancer, according to his family. He was 59.
“He will be remembered for his financial services leadership and his deep commitment to conservation,” said Larry Fink, CEO of BlackRock Inc, who knew Jain well.

Jain was diagnosed with duodenal cancer, which affects the small intestine, in January 2017, but he lived for four years longer than expected, according to his family.
“To the end, Anshu maintained his lifelong determination to ‘not be a statistic,’” the family said.
“Anyone who worked with Anshu experienced a passionate leader of intellectual brilliance,” said present CEO, Christian Sewing.
