Anna Chapman is a Russian intelligence agent, media personality and model. She is the daughter of Vasily Kushenko and Irene Kushenko.

Her father, Vasily Kushchenko, was allegedly a senior KGB official who formerly served as the Russian ambassador to Kenya and now has a senior position at the ministry known by its Russian initials MID (foreign affairs).
Anna received a master’s degree in economics with honours from Moscow State University, according to her ex-husband. According to some accounts, she graduated from Russia’s People’s Friendship University.

Anna Chapman was arrested in the United States on 27 June 2010 as part of the Illegals Program spy ring. She was arrested on suspicion of espionage on behalf of the Russian Federation’s external intelligence agency, Sluzhba vneshney razvedki (SVR).
Chapman pleaded guilty to conspiracy to act as a foreign government agent. As part of the 2010 Russia-US prisoner swap, she and the other Russians were repatriated to Russia on July 8, 2010.
Since her return to Russia, Chapman has worked in a variety of fields, including for the government as head of a youth council, a catwalk model in Russian fashion shows, and running a television series.
