Ann Lesley Smith First Husband: Meet Chester Smith
Smith was previously married to Chester Smith, a country-western artist and business entrepreneur, with whom she made an album called Captured by Love in 2005.
Smith was born on March 29, 1930, in Durant, Oklahoma. At the age of nine, he began singing alongside Gene Autry on Fresno’s KMJ-AM radio station.
After relocating to Modesto in 1942, he worked in radio broadcasting for many stations in the central California valley, beginning with KTRB-AM at the age of 12 and remaining there for 16 years.
On January 3, 1947, he dropped out of high school and began his own curriculum. His life was memorialized in song with “The Ballad of Chester Smith,” a charming melody he created and performed.
