British actress Anita Carey died on July 19, 2023, at the age of 75. She is survived by her husband Mark Wing-Davey and two children.

Tributes have poured in from across the globe for the Coronation Street star.
“Saddened to hear about Anita Carey. She was a joy to write for as Vivien on Doctors and it was great to meet her once at the soap awards”, screenwriter Roland Moore tweeted.
Carey had battled breast cancer since 2010 and eventually succumbed to the ailment.

Some of her early roles include Z-Cars, Dixon of Dock Green, I Didn’t Know You Cared, Whatever Happened to the Likely Lads?, Ripping Yarns, Beryl’s Lot, The History of Mr. Polly and The Spoils of War.
Carey is most famous for appearing as Joyce Smedley in the ITV soap opera Coronation Street from 1996 to 1997.
In 2007, Carey was cast in the BBC soap opera Doctors which won her the British Soap Award for Best Dramatic Performance in 2009 and many other awards.
Other films Carey appeared include Casualty, Candlesticks, The Last Witness, The Murder Room, and many more.
