Rangers legend Andy Goram has been given just six months to live after he was diagnosed with terminal cancer.

According to the Daily Mail, Goram aged 58, reportedly turned down chemotherapy after being told it would only give him another 12 weeks, and said he would ‘fight like I’ve never fought before’.
Terminal cancer usually means the cancer cannot be controlled and is more likely to result in death.
The Daily Mail further reports that Goram initially mistook his illness for bad indigestion, but after a scan at Monklands Hospital he was told he had level four oesophageal cancer ( a cancer that’s found anywhere in the oesophagus, sometimes called the gullet or food pipe).
The extent of seriousness of the oesophageal cancer is dependent on where it is in the oesophagus, how big it is and the extent to which it has spread.

Speaking to the Daily Record, Goram said:
‘I thought I had severe indigestion. It was as though my gullet was blocked. After a few weeks, it got worse and nothing was getting through.

‘Everything I ate or drank didn’t get halfway to my stomach and I threw it back up. I couldn’t get a face-to-face with my GP for two weeks, by which time I was in total agony. I’d also lost four stone in four weeks.’
Goram was born in Bury, Lancashire, England, and he started his career with Oldham Athletic and Hibernian.
Goram, is however, best remembered for playing for Rangers during the 1990s, when he earned the nickname “The Goalie”.
In a 2001 poll of Rangers fans, Goram was voted Rangers’ greatest ever goalkeeper.
Goram signed for Rangers in the summer of 1991 and made his debut in a 6–0 win over St Johnstone on the opening day of the season.
Goram played for Rangers for about 8 seasons as he left the club at the end of season 1997–98.
Goram appeared in 43 international matches for Scotland and was selected for their squads at the 1986 and 1990 World Cups, UEFA Euro 1992 and UEFA Euro 1996.
After his time with Rangers, Goram played for many clubs, most notably at Motherwell and a brief loan spell at Manchester United.
