Andrés Balanta collapsed to the ground due to cardiorespiratory arrest. Despite the ambulances arriving to try to revive him, after 40 minutes they could not achieve it and he died at the age of 22 in Tucuman, Argentina.

Balanta was a Columbian football player who played as a defensive midfielder for Atletico Tucuman and Deportivo Cali.
On June 21, 2022, it is confirmed as a new reinforcement of Atletico Tucuman on loan until June 2013 with a purchase option at the express request of the technical director, Lucas Pusineri, this being his first international experience.
