Andrea Riseborough was born in Wallsend, near Newcastle upon Tyne, the daughter of secretary Isabel Johnson and car dealer George Riseborough. She refers to her parents as “working class Thatcherites.”

She is a member of the National Youth Theatre and a 2005 graduate of the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art.

Andrea Riseborough is known for her roles in various critically acclaimed films such as “Made in Dagenham,” “W.E.,” and “Birdman.”

Andrea Riseborough began her acting career in the early 2000s, with her first credited role in “The Long Firm,” a television series.

Since then, she has appeared in a variety of films and television shows, including “Happy-Go-Lucky,” “Never Let Me Go,” and “Oblivion.”

Her performances have been praised by critics, and she has been nominated for several awards, including a BAFTA Rising Star Award.
