Architect and designer Andrea Branzi was born in Florence in 1938 and received his degree there in 1967. He currently resides and works in Milan.

He co-founded Archizoom Associati, a pioneering worldwide group whose works are kept at the Centre Georges Pompidou in Paris and the Centro Studi e Archivio della Comunicazione in Parma, from 1964 to 1974.
The first international postgraduate design school, Domus Academy, was co-founded by him. He has been active since 1967 in the sectors of architecture, urban planning, education, and cultural promotion.

He was awarded the Compasso d’Oro in 1987 for his career. At Politecnico di Milano’s Third Faculty of Architecture and Industrial Design, he holds the position of Professor.

The famous Rolf Schock Prize in Visual Arts was awarded to Branzi by the Swedish Royal Academy of Fine Arts in 2018. At Antonia Jannone’s Milan gallery, Branzi recently debuted his most recent exhibition, L’architettura appartiene al Teatro.
