Andrea Branzi was an Italian architect, designer, and scholar who lived from 30 November 1938 to 9 October 2023. Although he spent the majority of his career living and working in Milan, he was born and reared in Florence. Up until 2009, he served as a professor and the head of the Polytechnic University of Milan’s School of Interior Design.

At the Florence School of Architecture, Branzi pursued his architectural education. After earning his degree in 1966, he co-founded Archizoom Associati in Florence, where he worked with Gilberto Corretti, Paolo Deganello, and Massimo Morozzi to create the No-Stop City.

He founded Studio Alchimia in 1976, and in the 1980s he started working with the Memphis Group. For the first ten years of Domus Academy, Italy’s first postgraduate design school, Branzi also served as its cultural director.
