Andre Arthur, a former radio host from Quebec, died on May 8, 2022. He passed away at the age of 78. The cause of his death was not disclosed. He died at the University Institute of Cardiology and Pneumology of Quebec.

Arthur is survived by his son René, his three grandchildren, his daughter Pascale, his ‘tender Lucy’ and his brother Louis. Arthur was previously married, but the name of his former wife and the date of their marriage is unknown.

While he was in the hospital for a few days, he shared tweets about his health, which he published Sunday evening. Arthur revealed on Twitter on Wednesday, May 4 that he discovered he had a chronic obstructive pulmonary disease that was never diagnosed.

Arthur began his radio career in 1970 at CHRC. He has also been heard on CJRP, CKAC, CKVL, CJMF-FM, CJMS, and CHOI-FM. Arthur briefly hosted a morning show on CHEQ-FM with Marie Saint-Laurent in 2007, as well as the web radio station Rockik.com.

From 2006 to 2011, Arthur was also an independent Member of Parliament for the federal riding of Portneuf-Jacques-Cartier.

Following his election defeat, he returned to radio, which was not without controversy. He was fired from CHOI Radio X in 2016 and then from BLVD 102.1 radio in 2018 after making homophobic remarks.
