Ahn Jae-hyung and Jiao Zhimin are the parents of An Byeong-hun.
An’s father Ahn Jae-hyung is a former table tennis player who competed in the 1988 Summer Olympics.
He is currently the head coach of South Korea’s women’s national team a position he has held since 2017.
An’s mother Jiao Zhimin is a Chinese-born Korean former table tennis player.
During his active years, she won a bronze medal in women’s singles and a silver medal in women’s doubles at the 1988 Seoul Olympic Games.

She was a semi-finalist in women’s singles and doubles at the 1985 World Championships in Gothenburg.
In recent years Jiao has hosted a talk show on China’s CCTV-5 television sports channel.
An’s parents first met at the 1984 Asian Table Tennis Championships in Islamabad, Pakistan. After dating for five years, Zhimin and Ahn married in 1989 in Sweden due to the lack of diplomatic relations between China and South Korea at that time.
