Amie Harwick was an American writer and marriage and family therapist. On February 15, 2020, Harwick was murdered in her Hollywood Hills home.

Her ex-boyfriend, Gareth Pursehouse, was arrested and charged with her murder. The police found evidence of forced entry and signs of a struggle in the home, and Harwick had suffered injuries consistent with a fall from a height.
The Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner officially ruled her death as a homicide caused by blunt force injuries to the head and torso.
Gareth Pursehouse was released under a $2 million bail bond, then re-arrested after pleading not guilty on April 16, 2020.

His preliminary hearing date has been rescheduled several times since June 2020; as of January 2023, it was set to February 28, 2023.
Amie Harwick’s death was widely reported in the media and sparked a significant public outpouring of grief and condolences from her friends, family, and colleagues.
