For the MLB’s Cleveland Guardians, Amed Rosario plays shortstop and center. He is Dominican by birth. His first MLB start came in 2017 with the New York Mets. On October 29, he was selected to compete in the 2018 MLB Japan All-Star Series on behalf of the MLB All-Stars. Rosario signed a $1.75 million contract with the New York Mets in July 2012 as an international free agent.

The largest international signing bonus ever was provided by the Mets. With the Kingsport Mets in 2013, Rosario started his major league career. Rosario was selected the 2017 PCL Rookie of the Year and was honored as a league All-Star. At Coors Field on August 1, 2017, Rosario faced the Colorado Rockies in his first Major League Baseball start.
