Amed Rosario, a professional baseball shortstop and outfielder from the Dominican Republic, was born on November 20, 1995. He plays for the Los Angeles Dodgers of Major League Baseball (MLB). He played for the Cleveland Guardians as well as the New York Mets, who were his MLB debut team in 2017.

In July 2012, Rosario agreed to a $1.75 million international free agency contract with the New York Mets. The Mets had never given a signing bonus of such magnitude. With the Kingsport Mets, Rosario made his major league debut in 2013. In September of 2014, he was moved from the Brooklyn Cyclones to the Savannah Sand Gnats. On June 23rd, 2016, Rosario received a promotion to the Binghamton Mets.
