Amber McLaughlin Husband: Was Amber McLaughlin Married?

On Tuesday, Jan 3, 2023, Missouri carried out the execution of Amber Mclaughlin, who was convicted of a 2003 murder of ex-girlfriend Beverly Guenther and unsuccessfully sought clemency from Missouri governor, Mike Parson.

Was Amber McLaughlin married? Who was Amber McLaughlin married to? Amber McLaughlin was not married but was known to have been n a relationship with Beverly Guenther, whom she murdered.

At the time they were in a relationship, Amber McLaughlin was then known as Scott McLaughlin.

However, McLauglin was apparently unable to come to terms with the fact that her relationship with Guenther had ended leading to her showing up on numerous times at Guenther’s workplace. This led to Guenther obtaining a restraining order against her.

On the night of Nov. 20, 2003, officers found a broken knife handle near Guenther’s car and a trail of blood at her office building.

This was after Guenther’s neighbors reported that Guenther had not returned home.

A day later, McLaughlin led police to a location near the Mississippi River in St. Louis where she had dumped Guenther’s body.

McLaughlin was convicted of first-degree murder in 2006 for Beverly Guenther’s murder.

She was sentenced to death by a judge after the jury deadlocked on its sentencing decision.

On Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2022, despite advocates expressing concern over her sentencing, Missouri Gov. Mike Parson denied her clemency, saying:

“McLaughlin is a violent criminal.

“Ms. Guenther’s family and loved ones deserve peace. The State of Missouri will carry out McLaughlin’s sentence according to the Court’s order and deliver justice.”
