Amanda Stapledon, a well-known former mayor of the City of Casey’s dead body was located in a car on Tuesday (Jan 18, 2022) afternoon.

Prior to Amanda Stapledon’s death, Amanda she was under investigation by the Independent Broad-based Anti-Corruption Commission (IBAC) for dealings with allegedly corrupt developer John Woodman.

As part of its Operation Sandon, IBAC conducted weeks of public hearings about the alleged corruption through late 2019 and 2020.

IBAC was expected to release its findings early this year.

Amanda Stapledon, a former mayor of the City of Casey was discovered dead by the state’s anti-corruption watchdog.

According to a brief written statement provided to The Age by Victoria Police, a 58-year-old Cranbourne North woman was discovered in a car. Which was on Stringybark Drive on Tuesday afternoon around 12.30 pm.

Amanda Stapledon’s cause of the death is yet to be revealed.

According to the police, Amanda Stapledon’s death is considered suspicious and that they would prepare a report for the Coroner.
