Alize Cornet was born on January 22, 1990, in Nice, France. Her parents are Patricia Cornet and Francis Cornet. She was raised alongside a brother named Sébastien Cornet. Alize Cornet made her Grand Slam singles debut at the age of 15 in the 2005 French Open after receiving a singles main-draw wildcard.
Alize Cornet won her first WTA title in Budapest. She rose into the spotlight in 2014 after defeating world No. 1, Serena Williams, on three occasions. She has had an excellent junior career where she reached a career-high combined junior ranking of world No. 8, on 11 June 2007.
Alize Cornet won her sole Grand Slam junior singles title at the 2007 French Open. She has won six singles and three doubles titles on the WTA Tour. Alize Cornet has also won three singles and three doubles titles on the ITF Circuit.
As of now, Alize Cornet is currently tied with Ai Sugiyama for the most consecutive Grand Slam appearances with 62. She is also in seventh place for overall appearances with 65. She is currently the No. 1 French singles tennis player and reached her highest WTA singles ranking of world No. 11 on 16 February 2009.
