Aline Kominsky-Crumb Husband: Who is Robert Crumb?

Robert Crumb is an American cartoonist and musician who was the husband of Aline Kominsky-Crumb an underground comics artist from the United States.

The couple got married in 1978. Sophie, their daughter, was born in 1981. Beginning in the late 1970s, Aline and Robert collaborated on a series of comics called Dirty Laundry, which depicted the Crumb family’s life. For the comic, they both drew their own characters.

Robert and Aline lived as expatriates in a small French village in the Languedoc-Roussillon region beginning in 1991.

Kominsky-Crumb and her husband had an open marriage, and Kominsky-Crumb’s “second husband,” Christian Coudurès, a French printmaker, lived with the family.

Aline Kominsky-Crumb died at her home in France, on November 29, 2022 according to social media reports. She was 74 years old. Although no further information is available, she died after a long illness.

Kominsky-Crumb was named one of twelve women cartoonists deserving of lifetime achievement recognition by Comics Alliance in 2016.
