Ali Karimi was born to his parents Houriyeh Abband Pashaki and Valiollah Karimi, over four decades ago.

His parents had supported him all through his career but little is known about them.

Who Is Ali Karimi?

Ali Karimi is an Iranian football coach and former player for Bayern Munich.

Born on November 8, 1978, Karimi played as an attacking midfielder and forward during his playing career in the Iran Pro League, UAE Pro League, Qatar Stars League and Bundesliga.

He has so far managed the Iran national team, Naft Tehran, and Sepidrood.

Karimi made his first team appearance with Iran at age 13 and then with Fath Tehran at age 18; and went on to play three seasons with Persepolis.

At the time, he won the Iranian league on two occasions, as well as the Hazfi Cup.

When he played with the UAE Pro League club Al-Ahli Dubai, he won two cup titles, and was named top-goalscorer in the 2003–2004 season.

As a player for Bayern Munich, Karimi won both the Bundesliga and the DFB-Pokal.

Karimi scored 38 goals in 127 matches for the Iran national team, appearing in five major tournaments including the Asian Games, the Asian Cups and the FIFA World Cup.

Karimi is regarded as one of the greatest Asian footballers of all time, and Iran’s most famous footballer from 1991 to 2015.

He retired from the game in 2014, after an 18-year career.
