Bail was initially set at $3,000, and Eckersley petitioned the court to be released to a facility on personal recognizance. Her mother drove her to the psychiatric institution, where Eckersley is a patient.

Eckersley faces a felony charge for leading authorities to her newborn boy in the woods “almost an hour” after initially sending officers to a different location, according to police.
