Lyon received several prestigious awards during his time at Yale, including the Ken Dryden Award for the best goalie in the ECAC.
His achievements also extended to national recognition with First-Team AHCA/CCM All-America, First-Team All-ECAC, First-Team All-New England, and First-Team All-Ivy League honors. Lyon’s outstanding contributions to the Yale team earned him the J. Murray Murdoch Award as the university’s Most Valuable Player.
The NHL beckoned, and Lyon decided to forgo his senior season at Yale. On April 5, 2016, he signed an entry-level contract with the Philadelphia Flyers, marking a significant step in his professional career.
