Alex Highsmith is an American football outside linebacker for the Pittsburgh Steelers of the National Football League (NFL).

He is the son of Sam And Pam Highsmith. His parents are very supportive if his career. The Pittsburgh Steelers selected Highsmith in the third round, 102nd overall, of the 2020 NFL draft.
Since Alex Highsmith was drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers, his parents Sam and Pam have only missed a handful of his games. His sister Lauryn has also traveled to support her brother.

Alex Highsmith was a walk-on for the Charlotte 49ers and redshirted his freshman year. As a redshirt freshman, he appeared in all 12 games for the 49ers and finished with 17 tackles and a sack.
As a redshirt junior, he started at defensive end and was awarded first-team All-Conference USA after setting a school record with 17.5 tackles for loss, 60 total stops, three sacks, and two forced fumbles.
As a senior, he was selected first-team All-Conference USA and third-team All-America by the Associated Press after breaking new school records with 14 sacks and 21.5 tackles for loss.
