Pyun’s films include The Sword and the Sorcerer, Cyborg, Captain America, and Nemesis. Pyun was respected for his ability to mount resourceful productions with quick turnarounds.

Throughout the 1990s, he directed more than 20 feature films, including his four-part “Nemesis” series and the 1990 “Captain America,” the first feature-length live-action adaptation of the Marvel Comics superhero.

Pyun began self-funding his projects after the millennium’s turn, producing films such as “Road to Hell,” “Bulletface,” and “Invasion.” While undergoing medical treatment, the director continued to develop and tinker with ongoing creative endeavors.

Albert Pyun, died Saturday, on November 26, 2022, in Las Vegas, Nev. He was 69 years old at the time.

Pyun was recently diagnosed with multiple sclerosis and dementia. Cynthia Curnan, his wife and producer, had been providing regular updates on his condition in recent months.
