Alan White Yes: How Did He Die?

Famous Drummer of the Yes band, Alan White, died while at his home in Seattle, on May 26, 2022, after he fell ill briefly.

White had been sick for some time. He was aged 72 at the time of his passing.

White joined the Yes band in 1972 and ended up being the longest-serving member in the band.

White has featured on over 50 albums launched by various artistes such as George Harrison, Ginger Baker’s Air Force, Terry Reid, Joe Cocker and The Ventures.

When Did Alan White Start Drumming?

At the age of 6, White began beating drums and joined his first band at age 13. The band was named Beatmakers. Together they performed songs by the Beatles, the Searchers, and Gerry and the Pacemakers.

The group went ahead to compete on various platforms and they won a number of contests at the time.

In 2017, White became a Rock and Roll Hall of Famer.

He is survived by his wife of over 40 years, Gigi and two children, Jesse and Cassi.
