Gail Zappa was a prominent figure in the music industry and played a significant role in preserving and promoting her husband’s musical legacy after his passing in 1993. She managed the Zappa Family Trust until her own passing in 2015.

• Frank Zappa

Frank Zappa was an American musician, composer, and bandleader. His work is characterized by nonconformity, free-form improvisation, sound experimentation, musical virtuosity, and satire of American culture. In a career spanning more than 30 years, he composed rock, pop, jazz fusion, orchestral, and musique concrete works.

• Gail Zappa

Gail Zappa was the wife of Frank Zappa and the trustee of Zappa Family Trust. In 2002, Gail founded the Zappa Family Trust, a holder of the title and copyright to Frank Zappa’s musical and artistic products, as well as his commercial image. In 2015, the Trust was given to her son Ahmet shortly before she died of lung cancer.
