The 2019 Open de Portugal was won by Polish professional golfer Adrian Meronk, who competes on the European Tour. After winning the 2016 Eisenhower Trophy, he turned professional.

In 2017, he competed on the Challenge Tour and finished second at the Ras Al Khaimah Golf Challenge, placing him 30th in the Order of Merit. In 2018, he participated in the Challenge Tour once more, but he had a poor year, finishing 48th in the Order of Merit with just one top-10 result.
