Mannarino advanced to the third round of the 2022 Australian Open for the second year in a row after defeating World No. 11 and tenth seed Hubert Hurkacz.

He was defeated in straight sets by Rafael Nadal, the sixth seed, with a first-set tiebreak that went to 16-14 points and lasted nearly 30 minutes.
