Cuban-born Adolis Garcia plays outfield for the Texas Rangers in Major League Baseball. He formerly played for the St. Louis Cardinals of Major League Baseball and the Yomiuri Giants of Nippon Professional Baseball. In 2021 and 2023, Garcia participated in the MLB All-Star Game.

Garcia competed for Ciego de Vila in the Cuban National Series. Garcia inked a contract with the Yomiuri Giants of Nippon Professional Baseball on April 20, 2016.
Garcia had five hits, including two doubles and three home runs, and eight runs batted in against the Oakland Athletics on April 22, 2023. He did this to become the fourth player in MLB history to hit three home runs and two doubles in the same game.

He’s so electric at the plate, fans call him “El Bombi.” The origin of the iconic nickname, however, is not what you’d expect. “Ah, so the nickname comes from my friend, my neighborhood friend,” said Adolis. “He called me that because my head is shaped like a light bulb.”
