In video footage that has surfaced online, Smith-Neale appears to throw a punch at his opponent immediately after losing a match at the Nuneaton Darts Open, a non-PDC amateur tournament.
The DRA, which governs all PDC Tour events and players holding a tour card, has issued an indefinite suspension pending a disciplinary hearing.
The incident allegedly occurred on March 9, 2024. Nigel Mawer, the DRA Chairman, made the decision to suspend Smith-Neale from attending or competing in DRA-sanctioned events.

Smith-Neale, who regained his PDC Tour card last year after a five-year absence, will miss next week’s Player Championship 5 and 6 events in Hildesheim. The PDC spokesperson confirmed that they are aware of the video and are investigating the matter appropriately.
This incident sheds light on the importance of maintaining sportsmanship and professionalism within the darts community. As the investigation unfolds, the DRA aims to uphold the integrity of the sport and ensure fair play for all players.
