Abraham Kiptum, a long-distance runner from Kenya, was born on September 15, 1989 in Nandi County. A Provisional Suspension against Kiptum for a violation of the IAAF Anti-Doping Rules using a Athlete Biological Passport (ABP) was verified by the Athletics Integrity Unit on April 26, 2019.

Due to the punishment, Kiptum withdrew from the 2019 London Marathon. A four-year suspension and the expungement of results were affirmed on November 11 of that year.

He placed second in the first Abu Dhabi Marathon on December 7, 2018, 2 minutes and 16 seconds after the winner, Marius Kipserem. He cut 70 seconds off his previous best time from the 2017 Amsterdam Marathon. In his first marathon, Kiptum finished third with a timing of 2:11:36 at the Rabat Marathon in 2015.
