Norton Ray Tuttle, her father, was 41 when Clara Josephine Tuttle was born in Tooele, Utah, on June 9, 1871, and Helen Elizabeth Utley, her mother, was 37.

On May 14, 1890, in Logan, Cache, Utah, United States, she got married to Hector Caleb Haight. They had at least 6 sons and 3 daughters. She spent almost ten years living in Oakley, Cassia, Idaho, before moving to Boise, Idaho, in 1945. At the age of 73, she passed away on January 10, 1945, in Boise, Ada, Idaho, and was buried in Oakley, Cassia, Idaho, in the United States.
