The Survival Rate of Glioblastoma is five years. The five-year survival rate for glioblastoma patients is only 6.8 % with an estimated average length of survival of only 8 months.

For decades, GBM survival rates and mortality statistics have remained virtually unchanged. The FDA has only approved five drugs and one device for the treatment of glioblastoma.

None of these treatments has significantly extended patients’ lives beyond a few months.

Glioblastoma, in addition to being life-threatening, causes devastation to the brain, which controls cognition, mood, behaviour, and every function of every organ and body part.

Many patients lose the ability to work, drive and perform a variety of other activities that contribute to one’s sense of self and independence.

Glioblastoma is also one of the more expensive cancers to treat, leaving patients and families with significant financial difficulties on top of the disease’s burdens.
