Chinese racing driver Zhou Guanyu, who was born on May 30, 1999, presently drives for Alfa Romeo in Formula One.

He is the first Formula One driver from China. He participated in the FIA Formula 2 Championship from 2019 to 2021 for UNI-Virtuosi Racing, where he placed third in the 2021 season.
He was a former Alpine Academy student who worked as a test driver for the Renault F1 Team in 2020 and the Alpine F1 Team in 2021, respectively.

Prior to that, he spent 2014–2018 as a student at the Ferrari Driver Academy, and in 2018 he worked as the development driver for the DS Techeetah Formula E team.

Zhou, who began karting when he was eight years old in China, relocated to Sheffield in 2012 in search of a more intense racing scene.
He won the Rotax Max Euro Challenge and the Super 1 National Rotax Max Junior Championship in 2013 while competing with the Sheffield-based Strawberry Racing team.
