Argentine goalkeeper Damián Emiliano Martínez Romero, commonly known as Emi Martinez, will face suspension for Aston Villa’s first leg of the Europa Conference League semi-final against Olympiakos.

He received two yellow cards during Thursday’s Europa Conference League quarter-final second leg against Lille but was not sent off.
Martinez, who had already been cautioned in the 39th minute, received a second yellow card during the penalty shootout for his actions, resulting in his suspension. He had also received a yellow card in the first leg of the match.

Despite avoiding a red card, UEFA confirmed to Sky Sports News on Friday that Martinez would be suspended for the first leg of the Europa Conference League semi-final against Olympiakos.
They cited Martinez’s accumulation of three yellow cards in their quarter-final clash against Lille as the reason for his suspension.
