2022 Cheltenham Festival: How did Rachael Blackmore fall?

Rachael Blackmore suffered a nasty fall in the next race on the opening day of the 2022 Festival. Blackmore’s fall came around 40 minutes.

At the Cheltenham Festival, Rachael Blackmore had fallen as she was brutally unseated by Telmesomethinggirl in the Mares Hurdle after colliding with another fallen horse.

Rachel Blackmore fell for a second consecutive day as she came off of Journey With Me in the Ballymore Novices’ Hurdle.

In 2018, Rachel Blackmore had her first ride in the Grand National. Her mount, Alpha des Obeaux went off at 33/1 and fell at the fifteenth fence, the Chair.

Rachael Blackmore rode her first winner as an amateur jockey on 10 February 2011, when Stowaway Pearl won the Tipperary Ladies’ Handicap Hurdle at Thurles. Rachael Blackmore gained her first Grade 1 victory when Minella Indo won the Albert Bartlett Novices’ Hurdle.

By finishing with six winners across the four days, Rachael Blackmore became the first female jockey to win the Ruby Walsh Trophy for leading Cheltenham jockey in 2021 at the Cheltenham Festival.
