The MTV Video Music Awards returned to New York City for its ceremony this year, 2021. The event was held on Sunday, 12th September 2021 and it was aired live on MTV, hosted by Doja Cat.

Canadian Singer, Justin Bieber took home the overall Artiste of the Year award as well as Best Pop of the year. Lil Nas X bagged three awards at the ceremony; Video of the Year, Best Direction, and Best Visual Effects.
