The 100m World Record For Men is currently held by no other than the legendary Usain Bolt, who recorded a stunning time of 9.58 seconds at the 2009 World Championships.

The sprinters who came close to beating this record are Tyson Gay and Yohan Blake who run 9.69 seconds.

The 100m World Record for Women was held by Florence Griffith-Joyner with 10.49 seconds in 1988. Jamaican Elaine Thompson-Herah broke the record with a time of 10.61 seconds at the Olympics record.
